KENOSHA – Surveillance footage shows the moment a man was struck by a car on Sheridan Road near Westown Foods on Nov. 25. Now a Kenosha family is desperate for answers after their autistic son was seriously injured.

After the incident, the driver fled, leaving the man seriously injured and his family devastated.

The forceful blow left the man, identified by his family as Andy, with two broken wrists, leaving him unable to care for himself.

Evan Herrera, a family member, said this has affected his family.

“Being severely autistic and almost dysfunctional, it’s unimaginable how much pain (he went through) and what he thought he could do and what he couldn’t do,” Herrera said. “At the moment when it’s horrific, you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

While the footage provides a clearer picture of the car involved, the driver has yet to be identified.

Now Herrera and his family are asking the driver to come forward and that anyone with information can help identify the person responsible.

“Please tell us everything, any detail really, any information would be very helpful,” Herrera said. “You really hurt my family and probably the one that hurts us the most because it’s Andy and he can’t really take care of himself. It’s hard for us, it really is.’
